Maile Pingel

Maile Pingel is a design historian and freelance writer in Los Angeles. She is a former editor at Architectural Digest and today contributes to a variety of publications, including the Washington Post Magazine, for which she wrote the 2019 cover story, “Meet the New Wave of Female Builders,” that introduced her to Move Over Bob. She is thrilled to contribute the mentorship story on Women in the Profession of Architecture for M.O.B.’s launch, and is still inspired by the words of one of her own mentors, “Find a void and fill it.” When not writing, Maile is either at work in her community garden or curled up on the sofa with her husband, dog, and cat, binging political news.
