Deb & Paul Boston, Massachusetts

Deb has a lifetime of smashing stereotypes. She is the sister you are looking for when you need encouragement and a source of inspiration to everyone that hears her story. She's got a lot of people in her corner, including her former teacher, Paul. And when he paid her a visit at her new job, we were thrilled to capture the reuinion.

"I met Paul on my first day of class for my carpentry apprenticeship program. He was my very first instructor there and when he found out that it was also my fiftieth birthday, he had the whole class sing Happy Birthday to me. Since then, our friendship has grown and every time I see him, we laugh a lot. It really was such an instant connection and mutual respect that has been invaluable to my journey as a carpenter."

"I journeyed out of my apprenticeship program this past summer and am now the foreman for a female-owned construction company. We are working on the Greenline Transformation here in Boston, which is going to have such a positive impact on the community."

"He walked right up with a fist pump and a 'Good job, sister!'"
